For some parents bringing up your own teenager can be a bit of a strain, now with the new book from Jenifer Kolairi, Connecting People, there is now help at hand.

children

Supa Swap is here to talk about the stress and strain Children put onto parents in this ever demanding World we live in.
Is their attitude bad?, are their grades dropping? Do you want to look at them and say "What is wrong with you?" and having to ask yourself is this your fault? What have I done wrong? My child used to be so loving and caring and now they are my enemy.

What Is Wrong...

Is it me? What have I done wrong? Why are the like this? These are the questions you keep asking yourself over and over again. I have a friend who had the same with her 13 year old daughter, feeling stuck, not knowing where to turn or who she could turn too for help, everything she did was wrong, then she came across this book called Connecting People and said from the minute she started to read and take the advice her daughter changed and the attitude between them changed until in the end they became good friends.

This book taught me to look deeper and from an outside view of our relationship, and realise that it was not all her fault.

Magic Book

So what sets this book apart from all the thousands on the market?

Kolairi has been a child councilor for more than 20 years and for the first time she shares all her experience and puts it into words, for this book. She states that you should not just think “What is wrong with them?” but more of a question “What is wrong with me?” and realize it is you who needs to change as well as them.

Advice

So my advice to all of you parents who think you have the hardest child in the world to control, sometimes you need to take a step back and re-evaluate the situation and think is it actually the child being the problem?.

Supa Swap recommend this book to all parents with difficult teenage children

The Parent Blog, brought to you by Supa Swap is designed to give you tips, tricks and comments about raising a family. In this busy world we live in, SupaSwap would like to help you make life that little bit easier.

Our main blogger, Susan, is just a normal mum. She has two children, twins, Mark and Damian, who are now 14 years old. Her husband Mortimer is often away from home with his work and so Susan has had to find a way of raising her young family that fits in with her life style and a working mum.

Do not forget to let us know your comments against any of the blog articles. We would love to hear your point of view.
